COURSE OVERVIEW
Research is often described as systematic process of inquiry aimed at discovering, interpreting, and revising facts. Research is the term applied to any form of systematic and organized investigation to establish facts or collect information, and is usually related to a problem that need to be solved.
The core concept underlying all research is its methodology. It is not enough to follow the research procedure without an intimate undertanding that research methodology directs the whole endeavor where critical decisions are made and where organizing, planning and directing the whole project take place. The methodology controls the study, dictates the acquisition of the data, arranges them in logical relationships, set up a means of refining the raw data, and finally issues conclusions that lead to an expansion of knowledge.
This course is intended to present the concept and principles of research and to advise how to set out, implement, and complete research project.

OBJECTIVES

SPEAKER’S PROFILE

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR DR ERNEST CYRIL DE RUN—is a lecturer from the Faculty Economics and Business, University Malaysia Sarawak. He obtained his first degree from UKM, and Master and PhD from Waikato and Otago, New Zealand. His specializations are in marketing, promotions, and cross cultural studies. Ernest is extensively published in international scholarly journals and so far, he has published more than 50 articles by various ISI journals. He has conducted extensive training for various governments departments and corporations. He has a high energetic style of presentation that encourages active participation and sustains participants’ interest.
